deepsense.io partners with Hortonworks after participation at Hadoop Summit North America
deepsense.io and Hortonworks, a leader in the Enterprise Hadoop Solutions Industry, agreed on establishing a technology partnership and plan to expand it this year.
deepsense.io has become a Technology Partner of Hortonworks, a software company focused on development and support of Apache Hadoop. Thereby, it joined a group of Hortonworks’ partners next to such IT top dogs as Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, SAP, Cisco, Dell, and Google Cloud Platform. The partnership has been signed in June right after Hadoop Summit North America, organised by Hortonworks and Yahoo! in San Jose where deepsense.io participated.
Apart from being a Hadoop Summit exhibitor, deepsense.io ran a session about machine learning on Hadoop data lakes, which was featured on the conference’s main agenda thanks to winning the Hadoop community vote – it had beaten 87 other highly technical talk proposals on “Data Science and Hadoop”. The session gathered over 200 attendees and is available on-line here.
“We are glad that so many people interested in new analytical opportunities for Hadoop appreciated our high-level machine learning knowledge and openness to share it”, says Thomas Kulakowski, CEO of deepsense.io. “And then after becoming Hortonworks’ Technology Partner we are even more happy – it means that DS Studio, a machine learning platform we are developing, has been recognised as forward-looking by the leader in Big Data Science industry.”
Hortonworks is a pure player of Hadoop solutions, delivering one of the best and most popular distributions of Hadoop – Hadoop Data Platform (HDP), whereas DS Studio is focused on machine learning algorithms, designed to make the work of data engineers much easier. “Hadoop is a backbone of our software”, says Michael Iwanowski, Product Director. He adds, “DS Studio can be used without the need to write a single line of code and I think that’s an important added value to the Hadoop ecosystem.”
deepsense.io is planning on certifying DS Studio and achieving the status of HDP Certified Partner. “It should take place in November this year”, shares Iwanowski. “At the beginning of 2016, we plan to launch our platform and we believe that this extended level of partnership with Hortonworks will strengthen our starting position significantly.”
