Burkhard Boeckem, CTO of Hexagon AB, has over 20 years of experience in the geospatial industry, driving innovation in autonomous technologies and disruptive advancements like AI and 5D visualization. His mission is to democratize technology, making complex solutions accessible across sectors. Boeckem led the development of the Leica BLK series, including the award-winning BLK360 laser scanner, widely used in industries from construction to media. He holds a Master’s in Geodesy from the University of Bonn and a PhD from ETH Zurich, where he earned the ETH Medal for his thesis in geodesy and applied physics.
