Client’s Challenge
The client needed to turn complex underwater sensor data into a practical monitoring system that could operate autonomously in real time. The system also had to generate usable training data from sparse AIS/GPS broadcasts and fit the constraints of edge deployment.
Our Solution
We designed and prototyped an edge-ready acoustic monitoring platform with local execution, orchestrated components, configurable input/output ports, and a real-time introspection dashboard. The solution combined beamforming-based contact detection across a 16-hydrophone array, tracking logic for signal continuity, automated AIS/GPS-to-acoustic-track matching, and metric learning with triplet loss to generate acoustic fingerprints for similarity-based vessel identification.
Client’s Benefits
The client gained a foundation for a deployable monitoring product, combining raw acoustic data processing, contact detection and tracking, automated training-data generation, similarity-based vessel identification, and a modular edge prototype.
